2025-2026 Club Season Tryouts

All tryouts will take place at Atlanta Volleyball Academy (811 Brogdon Road, Suite 108, Suwanee, GA 30024) at the time listed below for your athlete's specific age group. If you have any questions as to what age group your athlete will tryout for, please see the chart and detailed Age Definitions at the bottom of this page. Tryout Fee: $50
Late or Makeup Tryout Fee: $70

(Pre-registration and payment online is required for all athletes. No refunds will be given.)

Look at the chart below for your Athlete's age group and the specific dates and times for Day 1 and Day 2(13U-18U).

Any athlete wanting to make the highest level team possible must be present at DAY 1 of tryouts.

This tryout will be to fill any gaps on teams. No additional teams will be made out of this tryout. If you want to guarantee a spot on a team, please plan to attend the above stated date and time for your athlete's age group.

Tryout Information

TRYOUTS LOCATION:

• All tryouts will be held at Atlanta Volleyball Academy

HOW OUR TRYOUT PROCESS WORKS:

• If your athlete is at all interested in trying out for a National or National Elite team, your athlete must be in attendance to Day 1 (July 5-8) of tryouts or have previously communicated with a director regarding your athlete's absence.
  • Our goal is to have all teams selected by the end of tryout week (July 5-8), respective of the age group and division.
• Makeup tryouts on July 13, August 3, August 24, September 14 and October 5 are for any and all athletes that were not able to attend Day 1 and/or Day 2 of tryouts (July 5-8) due to previous commitments. Makeup tryout attendees will be evaluated and selected to fill spots on teams where available.
• If you are new to Club volleyball or Atlanta Extreme and have questions, please inquire via email.

WHAT TO DO BEFORE TRYOUTS:

• USA Volleyball requires that each family register their athlete(s) within the region. All Georgia USAV clubs are a part of the Southern Region.  Prior to tryouts, you must register on the Southern Region (SRVA) website and pay a $10 tryout registration fee that will be applied to the full-year USAV membership once your athlete is placed on a team.
• If you are currently participating on a club team through the SRVA or USAV, you do not need to purchase a tryout membership. You will need to provide AEVC with your current 2024-2025 USAV Membership Number at tryout check-in.
• SRVA Membership Website will open on 7/1

WHAT TO BRING TO TRYOUTS:

• USAV Medical Release Form
• Proof of SRVA Tryout Membership
  • or Current USAV Membership
• Water
  • Water Bottle Labeled with Athlete Name

WHAT TO WEAR TO TRYOUTS:

• Athletic Attire
  • T-Shirt/Tank Top
    • Tryout shirt will be provided (while supplies last)
  • Spandex/Shorts
  • Volleyball/Court Shoes
    • ​​​​​​​If athlete does not have volleyball or court shoes, any non-marking athletic shoe will work.
• Kneepads
• Hair pulled back away from their face

AGE DEFINITIONS

For the 2025-2026 USAV age definitions, an athlete's age is determined as of July 1st, 2025, with the 18 & under division encompassing players born on or after July 1, 2006, and 16 & under including those born on or after July 1, 2008. 

Here's a more detailed breakdown: 

• 18 & Under: Players born on or after July 1, 2006.
• 16 & Under: Players born on or after July 1, 2008.
• 14 & Under: Players born on or after July 1, 2010.
• 12 & Under: Players born on or after July 1, 2012.
• 10 & Under: Players born on or after July 1, 2014.

Important Notes:

• USAV age is determined by the athlete's age on July 1st of the relevant year.
• Grade level is not the primary determinant of USAV age eligibility, but is included as a point of reference.
• Athletes are not allowed to "play down" (play at a lower age level than indicated).
• High school athletes in grades 10 or higher considering playing up should contact their club in advance of tryouts.
